PURPOSE:To improve color reproduction of a magenta color image, color fastness in the dark and under light exposure and resistance to white ground staining by incorporating a specified pyrazoloazole type coupler in a layer contg. a magenta coupler and a specified compd. in a photographic layer or a processing soln. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material prepared by forming at least 3 silver halide emulsion layers contg. yellow, magenta and cyan couplers, respectively, on a support is processed to form a color image and the magenta coupler-contg. layer contains the pyrazoloazole type coupler represented by formula I in which R is H or a substituent; X is a group to be released by the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine color developing agent; Za, Zb, Zc are each methine, =N-, or the like; and R<1> or X may form a dimer or higher. The photographic layer or the processing soln. contains, in an amt. of >=5.0X10<-4>mol per mol of silver halide, the compd. represented by formula II or III in which R<2>, R<3>, R<4> and R<5> are each H, OH, an aliphatic group, an alkyl group substd. by an aromatic, alkoxy, OH, COOH, or alkoxylcarbonyl group, or an aromatic group, and R<2> and R<3> may combine with each to form a substd. or unsubstd. penta or hexa ring. A developer is contained in a bleach-fixing bath in use in an amt. of 1.0X10<-4>mol per mol of a bleaching agent, thus permitting silver to be not left in the processed photosensitive material even when an exhausted soln. is used.
