摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal compsn. capable of exhibiting excellent visual angle characteristics, being used in a wide range of temps. and exhibiting variable threshold voltages and having excellent chemical stability, which comprises at least two specific compds. CONSTITUTION:30-92wt% compd. of the formula I (wherein R1-R2 are each independently a 1-10C straight-chain alkyl and R3 is a 1-18C straight-chain alkyl) is mixed with 8-45wt% compd. of the formula II and 0-25wt% compd. of the formulae III-VIII (wherein R4-R5 are each independently a 1-9C straight-chain alkyl and R6-R14 are each independently a 1-10C straight-chain alkyl) to obtain a liquid crystal compsn. which exhibits a small birefringence DELTAetaand improved visual angle characteristics.
