PURPOSE:To obtain a desirable anti-skid suited to a traveling environment by comparing the output time of a brake pressure reduction signal with a certain reset time and selecting a mode. CONSTITUTION:The wheel speed signal (v) of a detector 1 is inputted in each of a pressure-reduction on logic 2, a pressure-reduction off logic 3, and a mujudging circuit 4. The output of this logic 2 sets an FF circuit 5 and drives a pressure-reduction drive circuit 6. The output of the FF circuit 5 is inputted in a pressure-reduction time measuring circuit 8, the measured time T1 is compared with a previously determined set time T0 by a comparator 9 on the following stage, and when T1>=T0, the setting in a mode setting circuit 11 is changed from a set value by means of a mu judgment to a low mu mode, by a mode changeover circuit on the following stage. Thereby, a desirable anti-skid control on a high mu road surface and a low mu road surface can be carried out.
