The switch uses a trimos thyristor (TRX) as the switching element, with a system of protection. The terminal voltage between two contacts (S1, S2) gives rise to a current (I) in the switch and also in the detector. - When the voltage exceeds a threshold current supplied by the detector cause a transistor (04) to conduct, opening the the switch TRX. As the voltage can then cause excess dissipation in the detector, a current limiter such as a MOS transistor (N4) is included to cut the detector current to a second, low value. |
