PURPOSE:To improve the revolution precision of a main spindle and the service life of a bearing part by receiving the pressing force applied onto the main spindle, accompanied by the pressing of a rod member, by each action of a receiving stop part and a contact part, in a draw bar apparatus for a machine tool. CONSTITUTION:In a drover apparatus for machine tool, a main spindle 2 is installed in rotatable ways onto a machine body 1 by a bearing part 3, and a draw bar 4 is installed in shiftable ways into the main spindle 2, and a tool 5 is held by the rearward pulling action of the draw bar 4 by a spring member 6. Said tool 5 is released by the forward projecting shift action of the drover 4 by the rod member 10 of a cylinder mechanism 9. Further, in the apparatus, the cylinder member 15 of the cylinder mechanism 9 is installed onto the machine body 1 in shiftable ways in the direction of shift of the rod member 10, and a receiving stop part 18 is formed onto the cylinder member 15. A contact part 20 is formed onto the receiving stop part 18, and a spring member 21 for separating the receiving stop part 18 and the contact part 20 is installed, onto the main spindle 2, and thus a drover apparatus is constituted.
