PURPOSE:To reduce the cost greatly through the use of a device with less capacity by judging the effectiveness of a fed input signal from a sensor, and by putting the memory content written by tracing the material position in coincidence with the stored data for the material tracking device of higher order. CONSTITUTION:When the leading and trailing edges of a material are sensed by a sensor to give an ON/OFF signal S to material tracking devices CA, CB, material tracing parts TA, TB will check the effectiveness and shift the information write position in material checking memories PA, PB. If the tracing part TB makes processing with a normal signal S emitted by the sensor and fed into the material tracing parts TA, TB assumed as a noise signal, the content of memory PB will be delayed from that of the memory PA, and in this case a check part TC advances the material check position to put the perceive position of memory PA in coincidence with that of PB. Thus the device of lower order CB can perform material tracing in synchronization with the device of higher order CA.
