In a force-measuring device, a constructional element (17) supported at two sides has a flexurally elastic sleeve (22) in whose longitudinal bore (23) there is mounted a rigid measuring rod (24) which is firmly clamped on one side in the region of a bearing point (16). The measuring rod (24) generates a relative change in position which is dependent on the tensile force in the connecting rod (21) in the region of the other bearing point (15) by means of its free end (27), which has parallel surfaces (36, 37). This change in position is converted into an electrical signal with the aid of coils (34, 35) with alternating current flowing through them. Disturbing effects can be compensated for by a half-bridge circuit arrangement of the coils (34, 35). The force-measuring device functions precisely and has a high operating reliability.
