PURPOSE:To make the results of printing legible and minimize printing time and ribbon consumption by providing the second selection means to select additional modifying information selected by the first selection means according to modes. CONSTITUTION:A type selection device is enabled to select required types. For instance, if data is input through a keyboard 2, information input by the key is transmitted to a control device 10, and the control device 10 produces position information on types to be selected. Then this information is passed to a drive circuit 1A as an instruction. The drive circuit 1C drives a ribbon feed motor (RM) 18 resulting in the rotation of a gear 18A which is turn, transmits a rotating power to a gear 18B. A fitting pawl 18C rotates in a 18D direction and feeds a required amount of ribbon because it is intermeshed with a ribbon feed gear at the bottom of a ribbon cassette. |
