The invention relates to a device for cooling, such as are used as downstream devices on calenders and extruders. The aim of the invention is to reduce the outlay for apparatus and to improve the quality of the film produced. The invention is based on the object of providing a device with which the film is cooled slowly and uniformly and the operating temperature is already present in the start-up phase. This object is achieved in that the cooling rolls are arranged on the cooling fluid side individually or in pairs both within a roll group and between the roll groups such that all consecutively counted even-numbered cooling rolls and all odd-numbered cooling rolls are connected to one another in series by cooling-fluid pipe connections and a connection pipe. For preheating before start-up of the system, heating-up lines which can be sealed off are arranged between the cooling-fluid supply pipe and the cooling-fluid discharge pipe. The device according to the invention is used for cooling film webs, in particular for plastics processing machines. |
