PURPOSE:To prevent damage of a sheet and occurrence of a jam due to overload by slipping torque limiter means when overload is applied to a re- transported sheet to stop reversing of a pair of discharge rollers, and normally rotating the discharge rollers on detecting the slipping. CONSTITUTION:When a pair of discharge rollers 33 are reversed, if overload obstructing re-transporting a sheet to a copying machine body is applied to the sheet, further overload works upon the rotation of the paired rollers 33, and a disc 46 is slipped on a friction plate 52 rotated with a normal and reverse rotating DC motor 43 against the urging force of a spring 51 by working of overload, so that the discharge rollers 33 are stopped. The rotating cycle of the paired discharge rollers 33 is detected by a slip detecting sensor 47, and a detection signal is input to a control portion C. Further, the detected cycle is compared with a rotating cycle set at the control portion C. On judging that the sheet is normally re-transported, the motor 43 is changed from reversing condition to normally rotating condition, so that the sheet is completely discharged onto a bin tray. Then, the apparatus is restored to copy operation for the surface copy.
