PURPOSE:To decrease the interference of a magnetic flux and to decrease noise even if a head causes off-tracking by forming the 1st head of the magnetic path parallel with a substrate plane and the 2nd head of the magnetic path perpendicular thereto on the same substrate and making the width of one magnetic pole wider than the width of the other. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic path of the head HE for erasing joined with 'Sendust(R)' films 13, 14 in a joint part 20 is constituted on the slider substrate 11 and the head HW for recording and reproducing consisting of a coil 12 and a protective 30 are formed thereon. Erasing is executed by the magnetic pole of the head for erasing progressing in an arrow H direction with respect to a recording medium M and thereafter recording is executed by the magnetic pole of the head for recording and reproducing having the slightly narrow width. The noise is therefore decreased without picking up the previous signal in spite of some offsetting and since the magnetic path of the head for erasing is parallel with the substrate plane and since the head for recording and reproducing exists within the plane perpendicular thereto, the influence to be exerted to the mutual magnetic fields is small and the disturbance of the magnetic field distribution for recording is decreased. |
