PURPOSE:To reduce a number of part items and promote the cost down, by engaging a movable locating pin with a detected member and deflecting the detected member to be detached from its detection position by a sensor, in the case of a detecting and positioning mechanism for a rotary table in an electronic parts mounting device. CONSTITUTION:A device provides rotary tables 18, 19 to be juxtaposed in the right and left directions on a supporting bed 3. Two sheets of substrates 36 are carried onto the rotary tables 18, 19 by track rails 37, 38 from a storage magazine of the printed substrates 36. Then the device actuates an air cylinder 49 positioning the substrate 36 by pawl members 48. A detecting and positioning mechanism for the rotary tables 18, 19 is operated such that a rod 42a serving as a movable locating pin engages with a movable detected member 44 deflecting it to be detached from its detection position by a photosensor 43. That is, the mechanism detects the rod 42a engaging with the rotary tables 18, 19 or the release of the rod from its engaging condition through the sensor 43 and the detected member 44.
