PURPOSE:To avoid irregular reading of information and to prevent damage of a storing phosphor sheet by pressing it to a suction belt to be levelled by a pressing member when the sheet is transported on the belt so that the flexure of the sheet is adjusted. CONSTITUTION:In response to a detection signal of a sensor for detecting a storing phosphor sheet A, a disc 152 rotated to be eccentric is gradually reduced in its radial length to a rod 140, and the rod 140 makes turning movement centering round a shaft 134 in cooperation with tensile force of a coiled spring 146 to be biased in direction of an arrow B. Accordingly, arm members 136a, 136b supported on the shaft 134 are also displaced in direction of the arrow B, so that a nip roller 138 is brought into pressure contact with the surface of the sheet A. to be transported. Thus, even if the sheet A fed through a transport belt group and a roller group is curled, the roller 138 is brought into pressure contact with belts 128a-128g, whereby the curled sheet A is corrected, and the sheet A is completely adsorbed to closely adhere to the belts 128a-128g and transported to avoid irregular reading.
