PURPOSE:To improve the balance an SN ratio by depositing a desired magnetic metal in minute holes in an alumite on the surfaces of projected strips by means of an electrolysis in the solution of the magnetic metal. CONSTITUTION:A work rod 2 is obtained by extruding a round bar 1 with dies constructed to a prescribed shape. Thereafter, an alumite film 5 on the surfaces of projected strips 3 is removed by a turning and another alumite film 5a is formed again as a sealing process is applied only to grooves 4. Then, the work rod 2 thus processed is electrolyzed in a solution in which a desired magnetic metal is solved and, since material aluminum is conductive whereas the alumite is nonconductive, the magnetic metal 8 is deposited in a longitudinal direction in minute holes 6a in the novel alumite film 5a. Thus, a magnetic field intersects the central axis of a code wheel at right angles, enabling the balance of an SN ratio to be improved.
