PURPOSE:To obtain the titled powder containing microcrystalline, particularly lead at a given ratio using sufficiently a small amount of a binder, by incorporating a carbonate of a ceramic raw material with hydroxide thereof separately precipitated with lead hydroxide, drying the resultant mixture, and heat-treating the dried mixture. CONSTITUTION:Aqueous solutions of ceramic raw material water-soluble salts, e.g. nitrate or chloride, precipitable respectively as carbobate or hydroxide are prepared in the first and second tanks. CO2 gas or a precipitating agent consisting of an aqueous solution of a water-soluble carbonate, NH3 gas or aqueous solution of a soluble hydroxide is added thereto, and pH is adjusted to 7-10 to give precipitates of the carbonate or hydroxide. NH3 gas or aqueous solution of a soluble hydroxide is added to lead acetate or nitrate in the third tank, and pH is adjusted to 7-10 to give precipitates of the hydroxide. The resultant slurries in the first-third tanks are respectively mixed, filtered, washed with water and dried to give powder, which is heat-treated to afford the aimed compound oxide ceramic powder.
