PURPOSE:To transmit and couple signal light directly by performing multicore coupling optically without requiring any power source nor complicate and elaborate specular surface motion. CONSTITUTION:The 1st signal light (a) from an optical fiber 1 passes through a mutual rotary surface X-X and is converged again by a rod lens 11' and made incident on and transmitted through an optical fiber 1'. The 2nd light signal (b) from an optical fiber 2, on the other hand, passes through the rotary surface X-X and is converged again by a rod lens 3' to enter an optical fiber 2'. At this time, the 1st and the 2nd light signals (a) and (b). At this time,the 1st and the 2nd light signals (a) and (b) are concentric and held optically coupled. Further, the 1st light signal (a) projected by a rod lens 11 crosses the 2nd light signal (b) from a rod lens 3 nearly at right angles in an external light guide part 3. Therefore, the 1st light signal (a) is guided to the center part of the 2nd light signal which is diffused constantly without having their paths impeded. Consequently, the light signals are transmitted and coupled directly. |
