PURPOSE:To improve the oxidation resistance of the resulting titled stainless material at high temp. by removing the rolled surface layer of a temper-rolled stainless material by a prescribed thickness or above by polishing. CONSTITUTION:The rolled surface layer of a temper-rolled stainless material is removed by >=about 20mum thickness by hairless processing or polishing with sand paper. When the resulting stainless material is used in an oxidizing atmosphere at high temp., the formation of an oxide film on the surface of the stainless material and the stripping of an oxide film can be inhibited, so the stainless material is suitable for a holding jig used in the blackening of a shadow mask.
