<p>A composting plant e.g. for use in vermiculture, comprises a longitudinally-movable member, e.g. a cruciform-type breaker bar unit 16 (Figure 4) for moving the bottom layer of compost through the perforated floor of the plant. In a non-worm composting reactor, a breaker bar 42, (Figure 8), may be employed, with hollow, (as shown), or solid tines 47, 48, the former being employed to provide aeration of the waste material, the air being supplied via tubes 50. <IMAGE></p> |
