PURPOSE:To take up surely an extra-thin metallic strip and to make possible small- volume production even with a small-sized experimental device by using a reversible take-up spool roll for one of twin rolls in a vacuum or reduced pressure atmosphere and adding a thin strip capturing device and a take-up control mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A molten metal 8 injected to flow down onto a cooling roll 4 in the vacuum or reduced pressure atmosphere constitutes the extra-thin metallic strip 10 which is stripped by a stripping means 20 and is attracted onto an alnico magnet band 13 at the terminal of a dummy tape 12 by a thin sheet guide 11. A pure iron strip 15 at the other end of the dummy tape 12 attracted to an electromagnet 19 for holding is electromagnetically released at the same instant as the above-mentioned attraction and is attracted to the take-up spool roll 17 which is embedded with an electromagnet 18 and rotates backward at the same peripheral speed as the peripheral speed of the cooling roll 4. The strip is thus continuously taken up. The control of the taking up at the same peripheral speed to a uniform speed by a take-up shaft control system 16 is also possible. The sure take-up of the extra-thin metallic strip 10 is therefore make possible and the small-volume production even with the small-sized experimental device is made possible. |
