PURPOSE:To facilitate reading outputted code information by printing a function code to be emphasized in a form distinguishable from that of the other codes. CONSTITUTION:8-bit data from a register 1 is inputted to a multiplexer 2. In this case, upper four bits are inputted to the first channel, and lower four bits are inputted to the second channel. 8-bit output data is inputted to the second channel of a multiplexer 4 also. If the normal mode is set by selection of a printing mode switching signal MS, the multiplexer 4 selects the input signal of the second channel. If the mode is switched to the conversion mode, the input signal to the first channel of the multiplexer 4 is selected. A code corresponding to a designated distinctive code, namely, CR (carriage return) is printed in a pattern such as an underlined pattern, or a double printing pattern, or the like distinguishable from that of the other codes. In this device, output code information are read easily through the quantity of input data is large.
