PURPOSE:To shorten the sampling time with less waste loss of grain particles, by ending measurement when the number of grain particles whose water value is within a reference range reaches a fixed value. CONSTITUTION:Based on a command from a controller 10, a water sensor 1 samples a part of grain particles flowing down a storage chamber 4 to measure the water therein crushing one at a time. A comparator circuit 11 compares the measured values with a reference value to input the results into an arithmetic circuit 15 and sorts the water value based on the reference value, within or outside the reference value. An effective measurement circuit 2 integrates effective water values alone within the reference value and the frequency of occurance and the results of the integration are shown on a display section 14 via a display circuit 13. When the frequency reaches a fixed value M1, the operation of the sensor 1 is stopped via a transmission circuit 16 and a control section 17 and the mean of the effective water values is computed to update the data by a reference value setting circuit 12 with this as new reference value. A total measurement circuit 3 integrates the total frequency of water measurement to be shown on the display section 14 while the sensor 1 can be stopped in linkage when the results reach a specified value N.
