PURPOSE:To improve the strippability of a hot dipping preventing agent by treating the surface of a steel sheet to which the hot dipping preventing agent is applied with a soln. contg. thiosulfuric acid and by applying the hot dipping preventing agent. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a steel sheet to which the hot dipping preventing agent is applied is treated with an aqueous soln. or suspension contg. 0.01-1mol/l one or more kinds of compounds selected among thiosulfuric acid and thiosulfates such as Na2S2O3 by coating, dipping or other method. A prescribed hot dipping preventing agent is then coated. By the treatment, the applied hot dipping preventing agent can be stripped easily and perfectly after hot dipping.
