PURPOSE:To deburr surely and easily a casting by pressing a blade member to the casting and clamping the casting from both sides in the direction parallel with the pressing direction of the blade member then pressing the blade member to cut the flash of the casting. CONSTITUTION:A robot arm 4 is driven to move a deburring tool 6 in such a manner that the burr 2 advances horizontally into the space between the edge 10e of the blade member 10 and a positioning part 10f. The positioning part 10f is pressed to the side face of the casting 1. A special cylinder 7 is driven to force downward an upper clamping member 8 and to force upward a lower clamping member 9 at the same instant, by which the casting 1 is clamped from above and below. The blade member 10 is pressed downward by piston rods 16, 19, 21 to notch stepwise the burr 2 from the outside until the burr is cut down to the root. The sure and easy cutting of the burr of the casting is thus made possible by using the robot having the relatively weak supporting power.
