PURPOSE:To provide a shutter for prevention of ink evaporation in a nozzle which can easily be installed even in a narrow space forward of the nozzle and besides is of a simple constitution by fitting a form-memorizing alloy wire to the shutter covering a nozzle tip and permitting the shutter to be driven by the form changing of the alloy wire through heating and non-heating to perform its opening/closing operation. CONSTITUTION:Ti-Ni form-memorizing alloy wires 10, 11 are attached to both sides of a sheet 8 on a shutter 5, and an electric current is allowed to run through the wire from a power supply A, B by way of a conductor 12, 13 to heat the wire. Ti-Ni alloy wire 10, 11 is capable of memorizing its own shrinkage occurring when heated. The alloy wire 11 also has the memory to enable a sliding sheet 8 to cover a hole in a sheet 7 when heated. When a switch S1 is turned ON and a switch S2 is turned OFF, the alloy wire 10 shrinks resulting in a condition where the hole 9 in the sheet 8 is exposed and the subsequent ink injection being rendered possible. If the switch S1 is turned OFF and S2 is turned ON, the alloy wire 11 shrinks and the sheet 8 slides to cover the hole 9, thus closing the shutter. When using the ink jet device, the shutter can be opened by turning the switch S1 ON and the switch S2 OFF. |
