PURPOSE:To enhance bringhtness and light resistance, by a constitution wherein a phase comprising a fluorescent brightener and a phase comprising a UV absorber are separated from each other. CONSTITUTION:The recording material comprises both a fluorescent brightener and a UV absorber in a phase-separated state. Both of the components can be incorporated in the phase-separated state by a method wherein either one of the components is incorporated in a base while the other is incorporated in an ink-receiving layer, a method wherein an ink-receiving layer is provided in a two-layer construction and the two components are incorporated respectively in the two layers, or a method wherein two incompatible polymers are used and either one thereof is used for forming a discontinuous ink-receiving layer. In any of the methods of obtaining the recording material through the phase separation, the brightener is preferably used in a concentration of about 0.01-3wt.% in the phase thereof, while the UV absorber is preferably used in an amount of about 0.1-8wt.% based on the phase thereof. |
