PURPOSE:To obtain a vane excellent in the wear resistance and the sliding properties wherein a prescribed hole is incorporated in a sintered material and a specified carbide is uniformly dispersed in a high-hardness base material by adding graphite powder of a prescribed amount to the water atomized powder having the specified composition and thereafter performing the press molding and the sintering in the specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:After adding <=0.7% graphite powder to the water atomized powder consisting of by weight 0.7-3.0% C, 0.1-1.5% Si, 2.5-7.0% Cr, 10.0-20.0% (W+2Mo), 0.5-6.0% V, <=10% Co and the balance Fe and mixing the mixture, it is press-molded in 2-8 ton/cm<2> molding pressure. The following vane is obtained by sintering the molded material at 1,150-1,260 deg.C in the nonoxidizing atmosphere wherein a hole having 1-10% area is incorporated in the sintered material and the hardness of the base material part is 800-1,000Hv and carbide having an M6C and MC type crystalline structure of <=5mu mean grain size is uniformly dispersed in 9-15% volume in the inside of the base material.
