PURPOSE:To specify and erase an optional part of an original image and to simplify circuit constitution and reduce power consumption by moving spot light with which the original image is irradiated and specifying an erasure range, and turning on an erasure array dynamically. CONSTITUTION:The original image is irradiated with the spot light, which is moved to specify an erasure range. A photosensitive drum is irradiated with light from the erasure array 150 according to the specified erasure range to erase an eletrostatic latent image or charge, thereby forming an image. Then, the array 150 is driven by the array driving part 160 composed of a shift register 161, a store register 162, a switch circuit 164, and a dynamic turning-on circuit 165. Light emitting elements 152 in the array 150 are turned on when a switch element 163 is on and some of transistors (TR) 165a-165c of the circuit 165 are on, and turned off on other conditions. Therefore, part of the electrostatically charged part of the photosensitive drum which correspond to elements 152 in a on state is discharged electrostatically and no electrostatic latent image is formed at the part even if it is exposed later, thereby erasing the original image. |
