PURPOSE:To adjust a driving voltage for heating elements to be applied to each row and enable uniform recording by providing different resistance values to individual heating element groups on a front row and a rear row in a recording direction. CONSTITUTION:The resistance value RB of a heating element group DB1-DB8 arranged on a rear row as seen from a recording direction, is set higher than that RA of a heating element DA1-DA8 on a front row. Consequently, a differen tial in the calorific values between the rear row and the front row (V<2>t/RA-V<2>t/ RB) corresponds to a preheating calorific value at which a heat-melting ribbon is heated by the heating elements of the front row. CPU33 is built in the title thermal recorder and controls a driver 34 according to a data signal. CPU33 is also provided with RAM having a heat cycle counter and a print buffer in addition to ROM for recording action control. For this reason, a differential in shading every dot is not generated, thus assuring high quality recording. Further, recording speed is improved because of the provision of heating element groups in plural rows. |
