PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of noises by using a means to detect the presence or absence of reception of a broadcast wave having the frequency corresponding to the frequency information and a means to call out the frequency information preset to the next address of a memory after releasing a turning state in a non-reception mode. CONSTITUTION:The scanning action is started within a broadcast band which is presently under reception at a time point when an input key is released from the next preset station if the preseding reception state is equal to the reception state of the preset station and otherwise from a preset memory station of a memory key M1. It is decided whether the broadcast wave of the relevant station is received or not after a call-out mode. If said broadcast wave is received, the station is held for a fixed period of time. Then the scanning is given to the next preset memory station. Thus the scanning actions are repeated successively to the preset memory stations of memory keys M1-M6 respectively. If no broadcast wave is received, the relevant preset station is skipped and the next preset station is called out. This prevents the generation of noises.
