PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for manual documentation for controlling the output contents of a device and to reduce control man-hours by allowing a data switching device which switches word to display out a list document of output data item names of output circuit data which are results of the switching by the data. CONSTITUTION:An output circuit number of one of output circuits 4-1-4-M is inputted to a central processor 1 through a typewriter 13 constituting the data switching device 1A. The output circuit number inputted to the central processor 11 from the circuit number acceptance part 112 of the central processor 11 is received and a word switch address reading part 113 reads out physical addresses of respective input data words corresponding to data words of an output circuit. An input item name retrieval part 114 retrieves the input item name file 171 in an external storage device 17 on the basis of the read physical addresses to read out respective item names which are registered previously. Those item names are printed out on a printer 14 as the list document of output item names of the output circuits together with word numbers of the output circuits.
