PURPOSE:To prevent double writing of data to the same record by setting a flag part ahead of a data part to show that the reading check is carried out after the writing is through at the data part in a record format of an optical disk medium and checking the flag part when the writing is carried out at the data part. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk medium 100 is revolved at a constant speed by a motor 101, and data are recorded and reproduced with the medium 100 by means of a head 102. The head 102 is set on a desired track of the medium 100 by a head drive part 103. The writing is performed to a flag part showing that data are recorded by making use of a reading checking (verifying) action since this checking action is needed after a recording action for an optical disk device having the lower reliability of the recorded data than a magnetic disk device, etc. in general.
