PURPOSE:To generate an image signal which is progressive scanning and has doubled frame frequency from an interlacing scanning image signal by reading the image signal for each one horizontal scanning alternatively from each memory at doubled speed than recording. CONSTITUTION:After installing a magnetic disc 1 in a reproducing machine, the track of the external circumference side is scanned with one magnetic head 3A and the track of the internal circumference side is scanned with another magnetic head 3B simultaneously with the magnetic disc 1 rotated at 60rps. If a switch 13 is turned to the contact 13a at that time, an image signal 15A of odd field is input in memory 5A and an image signal 15B of even field is input in memory 5B. The memory 5A and 5B are constituted so that they read an input signal for each one horizontal scanning at doubled speed than recording. A switch 6 selects output of memory 5A and 5B alternatively for each 31.7mus. Thus, the output 17 from the switch 6 is the image signal which is progressive scanning and has frame frequency of 60 cycles per second.
