PURPOSE:To reduce less the weight of a data input device by dividing the device of this input device into >=2 parts. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard is divided into two parts approximately at the center of an array of alphabet keys. Such an input device can be used as it is on a table. At the same time, the input device can also be fixed plain by means of a support mechanism like a hinge, etc. and a mechanical and other fixing mechanisms like a lock bar, a fix-in tool, an adhesive tape, etc. to withstand the key input force. A data input device can be miniaturized with use of such a splitable structure. For instance the size of a portable microcomputer main body is substantially equal to the size slightly smaller than a pocket book by dividing a JIS keyboard into two parts and separated from the main body of the input device. This improves more the portable performance of a microcomputer.
