Image dye-providing materials

There are disclosed diffusion transfer color processes and products which employ novel image dye-providing materials which provide image dyes having the chromophoric system represented by the formula <IMAGE> <IMAGE> X is H, alkyl, aryl or substituted aryl; W is H or alkyl, R is H or alkyl; m and n are each integers of from 2 to 6. The image dye-providing material includes a diffusion control moiety such as a hydroquinonyl group and may be diffusible or nondiffusible as a function of the diffusion control moiety.
