PURPOSE:To prevent errors from being accumulated at a check-on-check part by performing superposition on a check part of code words obtained by encoding a row or column temporarily and then encoding the column or row while regarding the superposed part as information, and reproducing and decoding the superposed code and decoding the row or column, group by group. CONSTITUTION:The 1st information I1 encoded by a Cc encoder 3 is an intermediate code word (v) consisting of ncXkr symbols. The 2nd information I2 composed of gcXkx, on the other hand, is inputted from a terminal P2 to a Q encoder 5 and then Q-encoded. The Q code word encoded into the gcXkr is superposed by an adder A1 to obtain an intermediate code word (u) of ncXkr symbols, which is inputted to a Cr encoder 4 and Cr-encoded. Information I3 of kyXgr symbols, on the other hand, is inputted from a connection terminal P3 to an R encoder 6 and an R code word is superposed by being added by an adder A2, thereby obtaining a code word composed of ncXnr symbols lastly. A reception side only decodes the code word exactly reversely.
