PURPOSE:To constitute the titled device so that a character on a screen can be seen in a natural form, by constituting it so that a vertical deflection data to which a maldistribution method is applied, and a data for deflecting vertically all rasters at an equal interval are stored in each separate memory IC, and a vertical deflection waveform in case of a video input and a character input can be switched. CONSTITUTION:A data for a malfistibution, and a data for deflecting a raster at an equal interval are stored in a memory IC 51 and a memory IC 52, respectively. Also, in both the ICs 51, 52, the corresponding vertical deflection data are stored in the same address. In case of a video input, a maldistribution is executed by switching a chip select signal to a side (a) by a switch 53, and in case of a character input, a vertical deflection is executed at an equal interval by switching said signal to a side (b). In such a way, in case when the maldistribution is being executed, a character which is reflected unnaturally can also be reflected naturally by switching the switch.
