PURPOSE:To read a card of a composite system by performing transaction control through a control part based on the data read out of the 1st or 2nd head. CONSTITUTION:A card 10 fed through a slit is held between a roller 17 and a pulley 15 and carried further. Thus a sensor 25 detects the insertion of the card 10, and a magnetic sensor 27 checks the presence or absence of a magnetic field. If a magnetic field is detected,the card 10 is sent to the inner side and held by a roller 16. Under such conditions,the magnetic data on the card 10 is read by the 1st head 13. The card 10 touches a position sensor 11 and stops there. the magnetic data is stored in a control part 6. The part 6 decides whether the card 10 is equal to an IC card or not by the answer signal sent from the card 10. If the card 10 is equal to an IC card, a transaction is carried out. If not, the magnetic data read previously is extracted to undergo the checking for decision of the normalness of said magnetic data. When the normalness of the data is decided, the transaction is carried out based on the normal magnetic data. Thus it is possible to read the data on a composite card. |
