PURPOSE:To prevent speed change shocks by changing over the gear stage of an auxiliary transmission of the basis of the actual speed and required output of a vehicle and the actual speed change ratio of a step-less transmission. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary transmission 14 is changed over from the low speed gear stage to the high speed one when the speed change ratio r is smaller than a predetermined value r(theta) and a predetermined value rO or r(v). That is, the gear shift is judged from the previously obtained relationship on the basis of not only vehicle speed v and opening theta of a throttle valve, but also the speed change ratio r of a step-less transmission 12. Thus, the gear stage of the auxiliary transmission is changed over under the optimum condition corresponding to the speed change ratio of the step-less transmission to prevent speed change shocks. |
