PURPOSE:To prevent troubles of dropping of restored power source voltage level again and to stabilize operation by driving by driving pulse of the maximum chopper ratio when restoring from a low voltage. CONSTITUTION:In a pointer type electronic timepiece that charges electromotive force from a solar battery 1 in an accumulator 3 for driving, a restoration controlling circuit 30 is provided. The circuit 30 inputs a low voltage detection signal Pj of a voltage detecting circuit 40, and when power source voltage is restored from the state of low voltage, that is, the moment when the generated signal Pj is extinguished, generates a restoration controlling signal Pf of one shot and supplies to the set input terminal of an updown counter 54. When the updown counter 54 is set, driving pulse Pm of maximum chopper ratio is outputted from a driving pulse generating circuit 50. Consequently, a motor 11 rotates surely, and accordingly, not driven by correction pulse Pl from a correction pulse generating circuit 60, and controlled successively by driving pulse Pm of optimum chopper ratio. Thus, trouble of lowering of power source voltage level again can be prevented.
