PURPOSE:To shut off steam by a small and light member and to reduce the size of a structure, by a method wherein the cross around pipe of a low pressure turbine forms a vertical piping in the vicinity of a turbine inlet part and runs to the under surface of an operation floor, and two batterfly valves are installed in the piping. CONSTITUTION:A cross around pipe 22 of a low pressure turbine 9 forms a vertical piping 22a in the vicinity of a turbine inlet part, and extended to the under surface of an operation floor 18, two batterfly valves 16a and 16b being located in the horizontal part (or vertical part) of the pipe. This enables reduc tion of the size and the weight of two batterfly valves compared with a combina tion intermediate valve fored with a conventional intercept valve and an interme diate steam check valve, and also permits reduction of a shield structure 26'.
