PURPOSE:To decode the content of abnormality by a normal side equipment ad display on the equipment by adding the content of abnormality to a circuit disconnection command signal and sending out to remote side facsimile equipment when abnormality is detected by either of calling side or called side. CONSTITUTION:A called side facsimile equipment 200 analyzes a transmission instruction signal NSC etc. received through a circuit 6 etc. by a procedure signal preparing and analyzing circuit 3b, and transmits the result to a controlling circuit 2b. The controlling circuit 2b transmits information to perform operation designated by a calling side facsimile equipment 100 to an operation circuit 7b. When abnormality occurred at this time, the content of abnormality is transmitted to the controlling circuit 2b by an abnormality detecting circuit 8b. The controlling circuit 2b makes a message preparing circuit 9b prepare message information that indicates the details of abnormality and passes to the procedure signal preparing and analyzing circuit 3b, and adds above-mentioned message to a circuit disconnection instruction DCN and sends out to the circuit 6. The calling side facsimile equipment 100 disconnects the circuit following the DCN and at the same time, displays message information of the content of abnormality in a message display 1a and informs an operator to the effect.
