PURPOSE:To measure the moisture accurately and improve the precision of the adjustment of moisture by providing a detecting means capable of detecting the height of the pulverized body in vertical direction on an electrode supporting body capable of moving vertically the pulverized body being conveyed in such a manner that the pulverized body can be pressed. CONSTITUTION:The electrode supported body 9 is provided in such a manner that it is capable of pressing casting sand 7 conveyed in the direction of an arrow A by a belt conveyor 8. On the electrode supporting body 9 electrodes 10 and 11 and a dog 20 are provided, and when the dog reaches the reference level through the intermediary of link members 18 and 19 supported movably in the vertical direction by a supporting plate 13 and contacts with a limit switch, detection of moisture is performed. After the sand is charged in a kneading device 26 by a belt conveyor 25 and the moisture is adjusted, a prescribed quantity thereof is swept out on a belt conveyor. The moisture and temperature of the casting sand on the belt conveyors 25 and 30 are measured by moisture-measuring devices 31a, 31b and thermometers 32a, 32b and, by controlling an automatic valve 28 through the intermediary of a microcomputer, lacking moisture is added to the kneading device. By this constitution, the moisture can be measured accurately and the precision of adjustment of the moisture can be improved. |
