PURPOSE:To contrive higher utilization efficiency of an automatic transaction device and better service to customers, by turning a passbook to a correct direction when it is detected that the passbook is inserted in a wrong direction. CONSTITUTION:When insertion of the passbook is sensed, the passbook is fed to the position of a magnetic stripe, and a transversely moving roller 10 is rotated until the left side of the passbook comes into contact with a stopper 11. When the magnetic stripe 21 is not detected by a magnetic head 13, a passbook-inverting action is initiated, an upper feeding passage is drawn upward so that the passbook can be rotated, and a turntable 12 is lifted up to support the passbook. Then, the turntable 12 is rotated to turn the passbook by 180 deg.. Thereafter, the turntable 12 and the upper feeding passage are lowered, an inversion flag is set ON, and a magnetic stripe detecting action is again conducted. When the stripe is detected, magnetic stripe data are read, and when the data are normal, printing is conducted on the passbook, and then the passbook is returned. When the read data are abnormal, the passbook is returned, thereby finishing the operation. |
