The invention is a method of producing pipes of zirconium alloy containing 1-5 weight percent alloy materials such as Sn, Fe, Cr, and Ni. With this invention, improved corrosion resistance can be obtained through annealing partly after extrusion and between cold rollings in a strictly limited temperature range inαphase range for significantly longer time periods than standard in order to attain an equilibrium between secondary phase particles and zirconium mass and partly before the final cold rolling(s) within a strictly limited temperature range inαphase range in order to maximize the weight proportion secondary phase. A minimal level of Fe in a solid solution is thus reached. |
