PURPOSE:To expand the application range of finish machining and improve the machining efficiency, by controlling the relative displacement of a bar electrode and work when the electrode comes too close to the work or vice versa. CONSTITUTION:Circuits 22, 23 are comparators for comparing the average interpole voltage in the clearance of spark erosion with the reference voltage. The comparators 22, 23 compare the average interpole voltage Vg which is an interpole voltage in the spark erosion clearance equalized by a resistor 24 and condenser 25 with the upper and lower limits Vr2, Vr1 of an interpole voltage when the erosion clearance is adequate and discriminate whether or not a wire electrode 2 is too apart from the work 1 or too close. A controller 26 converts the keep-away signal S1 and the keep- close signal S2 into the direction of relatively driving the wire electrode 2 in accordance with the quadrant. |
