PURPOSE:To obtain an oxygen sensor element which can be efficiently heated by laminating an insulator layer on one side of solid electrolytes provided with electrodes and providing directly a heater for heating the oxygen sensor element thereon. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 5-7 are formed on a green sheet consisting of the solid electrodes 3, 4 composed essentially of ZrO2. The heater 1 is provided to an insulating layer 8 consisting of the insulator composed essentially of Al2O3 on one side of the electrode forming surface. A thin insulation film layer consisting essentially of Al2O3 to which an oxide binder of Al2O3-SiO4-MgO or Al2O3-SiO2 to be solutionized with both of the electrolytes 3, 4 or the layer 8 or incorporated with the binder therein is provided at the boundary between the electrolytes 3, 4 and the layer 8. The electrolytes 3, 4 and the layer 8 are pressurized, tightly adhered and sintered to form the tightly adhered joint structure.
