PURPOSE:To reduce shock absorber installation space by arranging, a control unit for controlling flow of liquid to and from a plenum chamber formed between a sliding piston and a closed end of a cylinder, integrally with the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A sliding piston 20 movable independently of a piston 61 fixed on a piston rod 60 is fitted in a cylinder 10. A plenum chamber H filled with air or the like is formed between the sliding piston 20 and the closed end of the cylinder 10. A solenoid valve mechanism 30 (control unit) for controlling fluid flow to and from the plenum chamber H is arranged at the closed end of the cylinder 10. |
