Control device for automatic adjustment of rearview mirror (5) on an articulated vehicle (1) with mutually pivotal vehicle components (2,3), whereby the device is designed to detect the position of these vehicle components and automatically adjust the rearview mirror position accordingly. One or more transmitters and receivers are designed for automatic detection and the entire control device, positioned on the front part (2) of the vehicle, is designed to deliver airborne signals against the surface (8) of the rear vehicle component (3).The invention is also a device to detect reflections against objects, for distance calculation, for example.
