The method is for removing an existing aged rectangular main frame(1) from a window opening in a building wall(2) for replacement with a new one. The method comprises pulling a pair of horizontal members(3,4) of the outer frame inwardly from the window opening until each of a pair of vertical frame members(5,6) is bent at its opposite end portions (9,10). The method then involves cutting each of the bent end portions and removing the horizontal frame members from the window opening. Finally, the vertical frame members are removed one after another.
