PURPOSE:To attain the shortening of a measuring time and labor saving and to eliminate the irregularity in a measured result, by measuring the particle size of a water- containing particulate material by combining a screening method by a water stream and the operation of an industrial robot. CONSTITUTION:The specimen collected and reduced in a specimen sampling part 1 is introduced into the cylindrical screen 29 in a receiving tray through a feed chute 16 and a robot 19 grasps the screen 29 along with the receiving tray 28 and moves to place both of them on a weighing device 34. The wt. of the reduced specimen is weighed inclusive of the wts. of the receiving tray 28 and the screen 29 and the weighed value is inputted to the computer 42 of an operation part 3. Next, the robot 19 allows the screen 29 to move, onto a temporary mount stand 33 along with the receiving tray 8 and subsequently grasps only the screen 29 to mount the same to the interior of a screening device 35. The screening device 35 applies a water stream to the specimen in the screen 29 to screen said specimen. After a predetermined time was elapsed, the robot 19 carries the screen 29 to a dehydrator 40 and the specimen is dehydrated. Subsequently, the specimen is dried and carried to the weighing device 34 along with the screen 29 and the weighed value is inputted to the computer which, in turn, operates a particle size from the weighed result. |
